Based at the International Livestock Research Institute in Nairobi, Kenya, we are an international partnership led by the University of Edinburgh collaborating with the International Livestock Research Institute, Save the Children, the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and Community Jameel.
Launching in Kenya and partnering initially with communities in East Africa, our global community of practice unites data, science and practice for food-secure and resilient lives and livelihoods in drylands worldwide. The Observatory is guided and coordinated by an advisory group of people from the partners and beyond.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
