Tsunami evacuation drill in Chipiona (Spain)

On October 20, 2021, the City Council of Chipiona (Cádiz, Spain) took part in a regional exercise of warning and general evacuation in case of tsunami. A group of volunteers, including disabled people, carried out a horizontal evacuation from the coastal points of impact to previously marked safe places away from the beaches. The objective of this exercise was to test communication channels and calculate evacuation times. Chipiona is the first City Council in Spain to carry out a tsunami exercise of this level.
